Helene Risør is academic coordinator of LASSSI. She is assistant professor at the Anthropology Program, Universidad Católica de Chile and principal researcher at the Subjectivity and Conflict research line at the Center for Intercultural and Indigenous Research (CIIR). She holds a PhD from Copenhagen University. Professor Risør’s research focuses on political and urban anthropology, political subjectivity, and social transformation. In Chile she has worked on issues of civil in/security, violence, post conflict and transitional society, and more recently on community policing and interculturality. In Bolivia she has focused on revolutionary politics, political activism and subjetivity, urban citizenship, security, and generational politics.
